Utilities Rope
Novatec Braids Ltd. produces braided industrial ropes using Nylon, Polyester, Spectra, Dynema, Aramid, Polypropylene, Polyolefin, rubber yarns and blends. Rope constructions include hollow braids or single braids, double braids and veneers, in several different ply and twist levels. Our motto “Performance by Design” reflects our commitment to furnishing the right industrial rope for the job required. Novabraid brand industrial ropes are used for sling fabrication, winch lines, tag lines, wire pulling lines and any industrial application where high quality, safety, and consistent performance are required. Novabraid ropes meet or exceed all Cordage Institute standards. Rope tensile strength, elongation, chemical resistance, dielectric test or other yarn certifications are available from Novatec on request. Utilities with formal product qualification processes approving Novabraid ropes include BC Hydro and Hydro - Quebec.

Nypro - NYPRO is a double braided rope constructed with a 100% nylon cover and a 100% multifilament polypropylene core. Designed for high energy absorption and low weight applications.
Nytec 12 - NYTEC-12 is a hollow braided 12-strand rope using 100% nylon yarn. It is designed with single ply construction up to 1” nominal size and two ply in larger diameters.
Oletec 12 - OLETEC-12™ is a hollow braided 12 strand rope using 100% polyolefin high tenacity co-polymer fiber. It is designed with single or two ply construction depending upon nominal size. Meets ASTM F1701-05 requirements for dielectric performance.
Polylon - POLYLON is a double braided rope constructed with a 100% polyester cover and a 100% nylon core. This rope was specifically designed for electric utilities but has a number of industrial and marine applications.
Polyspec - POLYSPEC is a double braided rope constructed with a 100% polyester cover and a 100% urethane coated Spectra® core. It is designed for general marine, industrial, and commercial applications. . .
Polytec 12 - POLYTEC-12 is a hollow braided 12-strand rope using 100% polyester yarn. It is designed with a single or two ply construction depending upon nominal size.
Nova Shock - NOVA SHOCK is our premium grade shock cord. Unlike hardware variety shock cord, Nova Shock is braided with color fast solution dyed polyester cover yarns for superior protection against abrasion and ultra-violet light.
Spectec 12 - SPECTEC-12™ is a hollow braided 12-strand rope using 100% Spectra® fiber. It is designed with single ply construction up to 11/2" nominal size and two ply in larger diameters.
Blendtec 12 - BLENDTEC-12 is a hollow braided 12 strand polyester/polyolefin dual fiber rope. It is designed with single or two ply construction depending upon nominal size.
Three Strand Nylon - Novatec supplies high quality four stage heat set white three strand twisted ropes for marine and industrial applications.
Star Line - Starline double braid uses the same high quality yarns as Novablue but with a tighter 32 carrier cover to minimize snagging and dirt retention. It is supple yet firm in hand and is easily spliced in sizes 1/2" diameter and greater. Exceeds NFPA 1983-6 tensile and elongation requirements
PV-12 - PV – 12 is a twelve strand hollow braid high dielectric rope. Our balanced low torque construction features high tenacity polyester veneered over polyolefin in each strand. PV – 12 has excellent hand and is easily spliced into hand lines and slings.
